Ok, so it’s been a while, sorry about that. Lockdown should have made me want to write more but instead it just made me lethargic and lifeless. Needless to say, I struggled, mainly to stay sane and motivated. I don’t think I’ve been that bored for such a long amount of time before, it must be a record. Anyway, I’m back with a vengence for 2020 sucking my dry of any drop of artistic-ness in my body. I’ve also just started a university course in professional writing (don’t think my writing on here will be imasculate though, it won’t be, I’ll be using this space as somewhere where I don’t have to feel stressed about putting the comma, i,n, , the, r,igh,t, place,,,,,,.
The work load is ok so far and I haven’t been doing too bad with all the online stuff considering how bad I am at academic…anything. I also learn a lot better in an actual classroom, and I’m at professional level when it comes to procrastinating (please do not learn a thing or two from me), for example I should be working on my copyright assessment right now but I instead decided to open up an app that I haven’t used in almost a year and write a blog post about it. Top of my procrastination class for sure.
It’s summer here in Australia and I’ve spent the last few days hidden at my desk in the far corner of my room, the fan on full blast and a drawer full of unhealthy snacks. Would you look at that, it’s also almost 1am, oh how time flies when you’re doing things other than what you’re supposed to be doing.
I intended to sit at my desk and get at least half of this assignment done before midnight but I got stuck in the living room doorway (as I usually do) laughing my guts out with the girls over the titles and descriptions of Chuck Tingle books like some 12 year old boy on a full glass of red cordial. Such is life.
I am now sitting at my desk pouring water into my ornate glass goblet from my ornate silver plated tea pot listening to classical music because I heard it helps you study but I don’t think Vivaldi’s “Summer” is helping me, perhaps I should put on some Bach or Debussy. Vivaldi is for when you’re running late for your bus, not trying to explain the role of copyright collecting societies.
Anyway, that’s it from me for now. I promise I’ll try to post more regularly from now on but for now, good ni-…morning!
